If Logicals exist over the target file, then:
CHGLF MAINT(*REBLD), copy the file and then CHGLF MAINT(*IMMED).

If the physical file is keyed and you do not care about the record
sequence,
then:
change the From Record value from *START to 1.  That will copy records
in
relative record sequence rather that key sequence which improves the
speed.

Hi All,



What is the quickest way to copy a PF from one source to another?  I
have two physical files that are about 2.5 - 3.5 million records that I
would like to copy.  However, if I do the standard cpyf command, it
takes hours to copy the files.



Is there any easy (and quick!) way to do this operation that won't tie
up my server (and my time) for hours?
