Thanks all, knew I could do it (just haven't had/wanted to in years)....
 
and being paranoid (which does not mean they are NOT out to get me) ANY chg I 
make to any file and recompile I ALWAYS (well most of the time) recompile 
affected programs......

AFTER performing the F4 / F6 function keys to re-sort the DDS, you need to:

1) recompile the display file
AND, most importantly
2) Recompile the PROGRAM.

Since the buffer positions for the fields will be changed, you'll get a 
level check if you try to run the program without first recompiling it.
