If you are using a managed switch you can usually have a port designated
as a monitoring port for some other port.  So if you know what port your
iSeries is plugged into, your PC is plugged into the same managed
switch, you can set your PC port to monitor your iSeries port.  

This is now diverging into network management and away from iSeries.
What list should this continue on David?

It depends on what kind of distribution device you are using for the
network ... if you are using a HUB, then you can see all traffic going
to all systems plugged in.  If you are using a switch, then you can only
see the traffic going to and from your own system.
