Guess what!  It's just two DVD's now (not 6 CDs) - now if we could only
request the cume for i5/OS on a DVD.

Just completed this - upgrade worked like a charm.  Appears to be faster
after the update, too - takes a little while after going in to the
server screen for everything to repopulate and wake up though.

HMC V5R1.0 Availability

Announcing the availability of Hardware Management Console Version 5
Release 1.0 for Power 5.

This Version provides several new enhancements:

1)Installation/Backup/Restore over ethernet networks.
2)Configuration support for Host Channel Adapters.
3)Mobile CoD support
4)Enhanced Manage On/Off CoD support
5)Shared Ethernet failover support for Virtual IO Server 6)IO Server
Support Enhancements for VIOS and RPA partitions 7)Redundant FSP with
Dynamic failover Support 8)Update to the HMC Operating System

Due to the changes in the Operating System, there is no corrective
service to upgrade to Version 5 Release 1.0. 
Before upgrading, users must perform the Save Upgrade Data task to
preserve partition profiles, users and configuration data on the HMC. 

This package is referenced by PTF MH00407(APAR MB01197) with ISO images
for Recovery DVDs, along with files needed to setup a network
install/upgrade, can be downloaded from the techsupport web site:
