I don't think that kthiruma was necessarily used.

Here's is the output again:
 Enter login ID (kthiruma):
 331 Enter password.
  OS/400 is the remote operating system. The TCP/IP version is
"V5R3M0".
 250  Now using naming format "0".
 Enter an FTP subcommand.


The (kthiruma) just means that is the OS/400 user ID being used to run the FTP 
client.  If you just hit enter, "kthiruma" will be sent as the user ID.  
However, nothing in the output can tell you what was actually used.

The "OS/400 is the remote operating system.." line tells me that whatever was 
used, the sign on was successful.  However, the next few lines lead me to 
believe that the OP is trying to sign on again.  Like David and the others, my 
question is why?
