Wonder if positioning the cursor to the message line and forcing the HELP
key will do what you require?
When I want to display second-level text for a message when debugging a
program, that's what I do (with the physical keys on the terminal).

Jim,

  If you do a DSPMSG, and get to the 2nd level text, you'll see that it's
formatted nicely, w/ paragraphs, indents, etc.  This is accomplished by the
system via those embedded codes.  I would like to duplicate that
functionality when I display a msg through a regular field in my program.
