I found some free code several months back that allowed me to view a users
interactive job. I think I copied the code to my pc. If interested, let
me know and I'll dig it up.

Subject: Re: User Activities

Jeanne ===>"I know this isn't strictly a Mapics issue, "
Peter ===>Do not worry, I am switching the message to the midrange list
now.

Jeanne ===>"...how can I monitor a user's activities on our AS/400?  There
has to be
some IBM tools to do this."
Peter ===> Well, they are a couple but all depends what specifically do
you want to monitor: file updates, menus used, programs used, etc.

MAPICS
1) If you are using MAPICS and want to monitor the files, there is in CAS
the Journal Management part of it. If you want to do this but on inhouse
files, you can set your own journal(s) and read them.

2) If you want to see the Application Log activity, go to the REPORT
section in CAS and run the
Application Log Report.

OUTSIDE OF MAPICS
1) Journals
2) Job Logs

That is what I can think of... Need more coffee...

The guys may bring more to this. Good luck!
