John - for people who have the joy of dealing with the License Key Center
(or whatever
it is called) - the license may be up to 70 days after install.
Long ago someone posted that the object change date (not create date) of
QSS1MRI in QUSRSYS type *DTAARA is a good date for install or upgrade, and
is not
updated by ptf. It contains the actual release VxRxMxx and the language id.
I suppose if you changed language id on a machine it would have it's change
date updated.
For a preloaded i5 machine I just checked, the change date is when IBM
preloaded the OS,
not when I installed. The WRKLICINF is also when IBM preloaded.
To get my actual install date, I can see the restore dates when I loaded the
machine with user profiles, data, etc.
