Let's bring back the industry specific and the application specific 
tracks, courses of study, etc. I agree with you. How about one whole track 
related to Domino and notes that brings in some of the Lotussphere people? 
I've got a co-worker with all the Lotus letters after his name. He could 
teach some of these classes.

When the industry specific projects were killed, I know that COMMON lost 
30 IT managers from construction companies who came twice a year. Their 
whole reason for coming to the conferences went out the window, because 
they weren't programmers, but came to the conference to meet with their 
peers and exchange ideas. One industry specific group - 60 paid 
registrations per year - POOF. The construction track was a small one. How 
many were lost in the other groups? The ELFS (entertainment, lodging, and 
food services) group had its core of 15-20 members per conference. Same 
with insurance, health care, etc. Manufacturing and distribution were huge 
groups. It's a crying shame that someone decided to turn COMMON into 
primarily a programmer's conference. The IT managers don't come in large 
numbers anymore.
