I need to attach an IBM 4247 matrix
printer to our 520 (v5r3) using a
parallel port of a Lexmark MarkNet
print server.

The MarkNet has a IP address
that the iSeries can ping.

I vary the device on, start
the writer, answer the forms
message, WrkSplF shows the
file in PND status, the MarkNet
blinks its 'I've got data' light,
and nothing else happens.

The Boulder and the Lexmark
websites say this should work:

CRTDEVPRT DEVD(devname) DEVCLS(*LAN) +
TYPE(3812) MODEL(1) LANATTACH(*IP) +
PORT(9100) ATTACH(*DIRECT) ONLINE(*YES) +
FONT(11 *NONE) FORMFEED(*CONT) +
SEPDRAWER(*FILE) PRTERRMSG(*INQ) +
MSGQ(*CTLD) ACTTMR(170) INACTTMR(*SEC15) +
LINESPEED(19200) WORDLEN(8) PARITY(*NONE) +
STOPBITS(1) TRANSFORM(*YES)+
MFRTYPMDL(*IBM4247DUAL) +
PPRSRC1(*LETTER) PPRSRC2(*NONE)+
ENVELOPE(*NONE) ASCII899(*NO)+
IMGCFG(*NONE) + CHRID(*SYSVAL)+
RMTLOCNAME('ip address here') +
SYSDRVPGM(*IBMPJLDRV)

but it does not.
Any ideas where I can look?

TIA, lance
