An interesting idea, but I didn't get any QTFTP jobs when I executed the
WRKOBJLCK on the target machine.

I did check all the QTFTP jobs in QSYSWRK, but there was nothing in any of
the job logs that looked helpful.

In this situation, one debugging strategy that I use is to start an
interactive session on the target machine _while_ my FTP session is still 
running.

Then, after the failure occurs, from your interactive session on the target 
system, issue the command

WRKOBJLCK OBJ(USERID) OBJTYPE(*USRPRF)

Where USERID is the user id that you used to start the FTP session.
