I believe lack of sharing is still and issue. I am concerned that you have indexes that might not be sharing access paths. Maintenance of these access paths takes up time, as well as space. Logical files (indexes) are not zero-size objects, they can be considerable. The longer the key, the bigger. You have, at least, the length of the key, as well as the RRN that key points to, in a logical file.

Sharing can result in tremendous space savings. And if you have a LOT of files that COULD share, your applications WILL run faster then if sharing does not happen.

It is a crapshoot whether logical files created with Genexus will share - unless they are creating SQL indexes instead of DDS logical files. Any sharing is good for performance.

we actually do have a lot of indexes for many of our PFs, and some of them have nearly the same key structure, but because of case-tools we use (Genexus), all indexes are created in separate way. So this is not en issue in our case.
