Once a long time ago I lost "cache" on the CPU and had a heck of a time finding the error message. In more recent times, I find performance problems after an IPL. This turns out to be the Raid5 Controller's Cache Battery finally went bad. If you haven't checked WRKPRB, try a WRKDSKSTS and then F11. If status is Active....nevermind, If it says Degraded... write caching has been disabled. get the $35 battery replaced.
