What will your system be talking to on the other end? What protocol?

Generally speaking, you will need some software to to drive your async 
communications, and the setup for that software will determine how you should 
proceed.

It's been a LONG time since I've had to set something up like this. From 
within a CL program I have to initiate a dial-out session over a 7852-400 
modem configured for async. Can anyone provide instructions to get this 
done?
