I didn't see a lot of responses that seemed to get at the heart of your 
question. Maybe I misunderstood.

One example of a 'physical' difference between a DDS logical file and a SQL 
view is that DDS LFs can have multiple members; the sub-type for SQL views will 
reject any attempt to add more members.

Is this the kind of info you were looking for?
