I remember reading in one of the IBM manuals the advise to put the triggers in the same library as the files: so in case you need to restore the library you won't have problems. The triggers usualy limit what you can do with the file, like clrpfm or copy-replace.

Your last paragraph is good. I forget why but we do keep our trigger programs in the same library as the data files and keeping programs in the file libraries is normally a no-no in our shop.
