I too think that is what he is referring to.  I use Byteware StandGuard (the
AV thing you're referring to).  I repeatedly lost exit points for FTP,
REXEC, and BRMS.  Since all our orders are transmitted from laptops via FTP
and processed via REXEC, that was a real problem. <g>

It was _NOT_ a StandGuard problem, it was an IBM problem.  It just so
happened that the IBM interface, or API, or whatever it was that was messed
up from IBM, was fairly new, and only StandGuard was using it.  That made it
_look_ like a StandGuard problem, but it wasn't.

I opened a PMR with IBM, got a test PTF from them (5722SS1-SI17811 for V5R3)
on April 11.  Yesterday the PMR was closed because I went 2 months without a
problem.  I don't know how soon it will go from test status to released
status.
