Some benefits of the local conferences. like the New England Conference, is
that

the price including board & room makes it reasonable to have an entire
staff attend for the entire three days.
the length of less than a week reduces burnout & overload.
the smaller venue makes the experience all inclusive. You are in the center
of everything every minute.
networking, meeting the speakers, meeting the people in your own neck of the
woods, and being with an all-iSeries crowd is magical
the length of less than a week makes it possible for mothers to attend.

hell, Dan, I figured the next iteration of this was a challenge on who had
the biggest.... And, frankly, I had a really good dinner and just wasn't
interested in losing my dinner.... :)

There's alot of good conferences put on by really talented and technically
sharp folks. Look at the agendas, crank the numbers on the costs and make
a decision.

'nuff said.
