I currently use STRPCCMD to execute .exe files on my PC
(requires I know the mapped drive or IP address)

The IP address of what? the iSeries? don't you already know that? Or do you mean the IP address of the PC, which is also easy to find out.

Since many iSeries users may run this program, I would like to execute this .exe program from a CLLE (or RPPGLE) program without having to know the mapped drive names, IP addresses, or any other info about the PC.

You can't run an .EXE on the iSeries, just as you can't run a *PGM object under Windows. A Windows program won't run under OS/400 because OS/400 isn't Windows. Likewise, a *PGM object won't run under Windows because Windows isn't OS/400.

You can submit a command to the PC with STRPCCMD or RUNRMTCMD or the rexec() API, or the rexec QShell command, or probably another 10 different ways that I haven't yet named.

If we understood what your objection to STRPCCMD is, maybe we could suggest a solution. But, so far all I know is that you need an IP address for some reason, and I'm completely baffled as to why you would need one.
