Jerry,

Perl is not typically loaded on an AS/400, however there is a version of Perl
included in 5799-PTL which can be ordered from IBM or downloaded from
http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/enable/site/porting/tools/

Once you have it, I'm not exactly sure how you run it, but it is a PASE tool,
which means you will run it from a PASE shell. This is an AIX shell, similar to
qsh but "call qp2term" instead of qsh. From CL, call qp2shell instead of qsh.

subject: call perl script inside qsh from cl

On a V5R2 box I can call qsh to get in a shell on the IFS. Then I can run a
typical Linux cmd like ls -al and I get a directory listing.

I know I can run qsh <command> from cl also.

Can I call perl script from cl in the same way?

Is Perl typically loaded on an AS400?

Unfortunately, this box is on V4R3 and the good stuff seems limited.

Jerry
