No More chance for OS/400 on Mac?


Folks,
any comments on Apple looking to Intel for thier CPUs and chips in the future?
Presuming the AP story this evening is correct, Apple is going phase out PowerPC accross thier platforms by 2006 in favour of Intel chips.

Any observations on how this fairs for the PowerPC base overall?
A thing I found most interesting and a bit annoying last week at the Red Hat Summit conference - NO PowerPC in ANY sessions I went to. They acknowledged the PPC, but didn't include it in the Performance, compiler, etc., sessions... Matter of fact, the compiler directions presentor was complaining he couldn't get PPC info from IBM, so he was basically just sticking with Intel.
