Because I never use InfoCenter for searching, that is not an issue for me. I go there to find things in the API Finder and other areas where I basically know where I am going. If I need to search on IBM, I go to www.iseries.ibm.com/support and use the search on that page. It is, IMO, a really good engine and, IIRC, pulls things in from over 70 IBM areas, not just InfoCenter.

The biggest frustration was the slow response - that has been greatly improved, so I'm a much happier camper.

I agree about the usability - the old SoftCopy search in a bookshelf was top-drawer, IMO. And trying to find something simple like applying a PTF permanently is an exercise in futility - with the bookshelves It was a piece of cake.

James, try it again. The speed of the menu is now fantastic. . . .

Uh, I'll admit that it's improved somewhat, over the past year or so, but unless it's made a quantum leap in usability since a week ago this past Friday (when I was last in the office, and trying to research something on a "brushfire priority" user complaint; I think it was the matter of getting the secure Telnet server working), it's still a total dog, compared to CD or Web versions of the old Softcopy system.
