True. Elvis' example shows a way to execute any non-interactive command using SQL - the example executes the CALL command via QCMDEXC.

I think any AS400 program can be called using SQL procedure call.  Another
word, you should be able to use JDBC/ODBC to connect to AS400 and use the
sql procedure call to exec the program.
