FWIW, 
and this is only our take on the matter and what is more appropriate for our 
operation. 

We have been developing utilities and programs in both C and VB for the past 
7 years. When MS released .Net we made a decision to toss MS out the window 
and start moving our apps to the iSeries and RPG specifically. 

It works, its clean, we do not have to worry about compatibility issues with 
different machines, DLL files, etc.  Write the program, test it, debug it, 
move it to production.  That simple
