Not exactly.  If you just FTP from the save file to a stream file, then 
FTP has no need to know what the target system is.

Let's assume you have an FTP connection to a system, all you need to do 
is:

bin
put lib/savefile  savefile.savf

If the target is an iSeries, you might set the namefmt and also the target 
directory first, but otherwise it is no different than going to a save 
file.
