Hi all,

If a batch job is executing SQL statements in a loop. I don't know whether a
job is
looping or really progressing in reading a database or not.

A. For traditional RPG using READ / WRITE statement, I can normally check the
call
stack to find out the executing statement number and then go to Display open
file,
then I can find out the I/O count and RRN of the record being retrieved. Then
normally I
can check the RRN record of the file to see if something is corrupted.

B. However, if the RPG is executing SQL statement, from the job I can only find
out
what SQL it is executing, but if I go to Display open file, AS/400 does not
tell me the
I/O count nor RRN of the record.

When jobs running on a huge database, I really have no clue on how to find out
the
offending record or it may not be looping at all (performance issue say).

Can anyone help ?? Thanks in advance

Tak
