You MUST configure the servers for Netserver to have a higher CPU percentage
and carve out some memory for the jobs.  Default configuration runs out of
*BASE and that just does not work unless you have heavy Netserver use.  The
more you use it, the faster it becomes.  Of course dedicating a CPU and
memory to the task with an IXS card solves this problem.  But now if your
OS/400 CPU is tasked with lots of other duties, you should upgrade your
whole CPU, add memory, or got the IXS route.

The IFS is a pretty poor performer under OS/400.  Now, using the same disk 
drives and controllers, and carve out a portion of them to be used by an 
IXS card running some sort of Windows; and you'll get a lot better 
performance.
