We are running a 2757 on our 810 (V5R2). The early 2757 had a problem and we replaced. There are PTF's for V5R2 to let you check the 2757 through SST. The 2780 is the same card with Read Cache added, probably only helpful for Windows or LINUX.

Jack,

Great improvements in throughput. Becareful, as there were some Hyper PTFs for those controllers that came out about 1 month ago, that you want to insure you have them loaded. Pete

To All,

Have any of you folks had experience with upgrading the I/O controllers on a
V5R2 830 4x from 2778's to 2780's. Are there any hidden gotch's and what
type of through put improvement could be expected. Customer wants this
analysis as a stop gap before they leap off into the i5 550. Any information
would be appreciated.
