Joe's sounds more like a hardware issue since you didn't even get a
BSOD. <G> 

HOWEVER, I'm not disagreeing that either of these are bugs. BUT, did
either of you call MS? Why not? If it's a bug the call's free, so
there's no harm. Or would you prefer to simply keep talking about how
bad the software is but not do anything to help fix it?
