Does anyone know if the iSeries can participate in a distributed database
transaction using two-phase commit when the connection to the iSeries is
through the v5r3 ODBC or OLEDB driver?

If so, any specifics on how/what to configure?

We'll looking at synchronizing iSeries DB2 tables with Oracle. We configured
Oracle's Heterogeneous Access using generic connectivity via the OLEDB driver;
specifically, we used the new IBMDBSQL provider.

We can read and write to the iSeries tables. However, trying to write to the
iSeries tables from a trigger on an Oracle table fails with the following:
ORA-02047: cannot join the distributed transaction in progress
ORA-06512: at "MRP.TRG_BEF_IUD_TPLANTMASTER", line 11
ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'MRP.TRG_BEF_IUD_TPLANTMASTER'

Thanks,
