Okay,  what I did was copy it to the flat file,  then copied it to a
file similar to the 'real' specs except all numeric fields were defined
as character.  Then fed that into an RPG program and used the %dec and
converted it to a decimal in the real file.

I don't specify anything,  on the cpyffrm prompts I leave it as *dlm
coming back in.  I don't know where or how to define this flddfnfile,
on client access you can define a file spec and store on the harddrive
but how to I define one directly on the as400?
