I was talking to an Engineer the other day when he was fixing our tape drive 
and he said that a lot of companies here in NL were coming back to the AS400 
because the "cheaper" option turned out to be far more expensive in down time.

That is one good thing about working on Windows.  
In general (not at all shops), administrators don't get credit for the
problems they prevent from ever happening as management may not even know
that it is possible to have those problems.
On Windows there are daily problems and emergencies so when you solve them
you get the credit from management as a "life saver".
