Nothing 'built-in' that I'm aware of.

You could add a screen to your application forcing the user to
authenticate and supply credentials.

You could write a socket server that runs on the workstation that
provides the id, and since you have the client IP address, you could
have the i5 go out and query the workstation.

You could write a program that runs on the workstation that writes a
file onto the IFS by the name of the IP address and store the user ID
inside it.

Just off the top of my head.  Probably other good ways as well.

Is the remote user ID somehow applicable to the application?  Seems like
it would be easy to spoof.
