Subject
SQL connection between AS400 and z/OS

Dear Forum.
I need some assistance! I want to connect to a DB2 database running on a
z/OS.

I have defined the system in the "Work with Relational Database
Directory Entries" panel on the AS/400.

I have started an Interactive SQL session via the STRSQL command.

I get the following message when attempting to connect to the DB2
database;

This is the command (and yes I did specify a valid user and password
combination)

> CONNECT TO DB2D USER ABBP001 USING ''

SQL package creation failed.

                        Additional Message Information

Message ID . . . . . . : SQL7020 Severity . . . . . . . : 30

Message type . . . . . : Diagnostic

Message . . . . : SQL package creation failed.

Cause . . . . . : An SQL package must exist on the application server
to run
SQL statements. Creation of a package for this purpose failed on the

application server and returned SQLCODE -567, SQLSTATE 42501. The name
of
the package being created was QSQL2000 in schema QSQL400 on relational

  database DB2D.

Recovery . . . : Do the response as indicated for the SQLCODE -567
and
SQLSTATE 42501. If you are running with commitment control, exit
Interactive
SQL or Query Manager and issue a CL COMMIT or ROLLBACK command. This
will
enable you to continue processing at the local system.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
---

What else should I be doing to get a successful connection?

Regards,
Dennis Nel
