I wrote an RPG service program with functions to read a CSV from the
IFS and return each field as a char or numeric, suitable for loading
into file fields.

It's a lot faster than cpyfrmimpf but not nearly as easy to use.

To use it, you'd have to hard code a new program for each destination
(cpyto) file, with hard coded field names.

It could easily be modified to interpret the single delimiter problem
you're experiencing.
