Yeah, I got that. I'm suggesting that maybe you SHOULD run a script: 

>From your CL:

qsh cmd('/davedir/davescript.sh')

Then, in davescript.sh:

...
PATH="$PATH:/somedir"
java -cp somefile.jar com.midrange.myapp.MyClass parm1 parm2
...

etc etc, something like that.  ;-)

I'm not running a script.  I'm invoking the java command via qshell.

qsh cmd('java -classpath somefile.jar com.midrange.myapp.MyClass parm1 
parm2')
