Ok, I've got a really frustrating qshell issue.

What's the best way to set the PATH in qshell?

I've got a CL that invokes java via qshell. In OS400 release V4R5, the 'java' command is found not mater what the path environment variable says.

In V5R3, however, /usr/bin seems to need to be on the path in order for qshell to find the 'java' command.

When you start an interactive qshell session, the PATH variable is automatically set to "/usr/bin". In my CL program I have to set the path so it can find some native code (Domino shared libraries).

Obviously I can add /usr/bin to the path I set the CL before I issue the qshell command ... but I would REALLY like to make my code adaptable enough so that, if qshell adds some additional entries to the path, I won't overwrite them.

Make any sense?

Thanks!

david
