Printing and SNMP

Can anyone explain to me the advantage of configuring a printer with the
SNMP driver CRTDEVPRT...SYSDRVPGM(*IBMSNMPDRV).   

The reason I ask is a customer is looking into purchasing a Xerox
Docuprint 75.  According to the IBM documentation

this printer does not support SNMP when attached to the iSeries.   What
capabilities are they losing not having a printer that can be configured
with SNMP from the iSeries side of things?
