The QUSRTOOL library (OS/400 option 7, Example Tools Library) has an example 
that should compile in the QATTUIM source file. The Application Display 
Programming manual is where it's discussed, I think. The member name that I 
have is T0011PN2.

The source from the example can be parted out and used for templates for nearly 
all of any basic list panel.
