Then maybe we should have another drop run to the printer ? We are
remodeling there and getting ready to move it to an area that is going to
require a new drop anyway so and extra one would be no problem...

In this case the signal strength will be split between the two devices which
is NOT recommended for baluns these days.  The most reliable balun system is
the "activ" hub system which has been the only thing available for years.

OTOH, I have seen worse:  twinax to terminal to balun to CAT5 to terminal to
balun to twinax to terminal, ad puke.  It actually kinda worked.

You are probably ok.  The acid test will be the printer because that's where
most of the data is flowing.
