They are not the same editor - different plugins, probably a completely different code path. The Java editor is also, I believe, older, as it's been there from the start of Eclipse. According to some history I read recently, Eclipse was IBM's replacement for VA/Java.

Why is it the LPEX editor causes problems, and yet the Java editor does not?
