I think I have asked this question before, but not of this group. I have a
client who need to print a µ symbol as part of a process specification. They
print their jobcards on a Star XB24-250 (old but very sophisticated) PC printer
which is connected to a 3486 workstation. I think the problem is that the
initialisation string that the workstation sends to the printer prior to the
AS/400 output nullifies certain settings on the printer, so it prints from the
standard character set rather than the graphic set. One solution would be to
connect the printer to a PC rather than the workstation, but I would have
thought that it should be possible.
Has anyone solved this problem or even have access to a 3486 manual please.

Many thanks

Peter Kinsman
