I looked at the manual also, and concluded it did not indicate the queue
name for LPD, but did indicate that it was supported.
I'll give your suggestions a try.

The user manual for the internal NIC confirms that it
offers an LPD service but it doesn't tell you the
queue name for receiving information from a remote
host.

The Novell support uses Q1. Maybe it would be worth
trying that value.

You could also try a *LAN 3812 model 1 device
description using port 9100 and the *IBMSNMPDRV System
Driver Program.

You need to make sure the NIC configuration sheet
shows SNMP enabled before trying this option though.
