Either use journaling on the 2 files, or put triggers on them. Journaling gives you a log of changes that you can retrieve and examine. Triggers, besides everything else you can do with them, could build a log the way you want - like write out a record with the time and the pertinent info - like who did it, the data you're interested in, etc. That's all in the journal (up to a point where the data is concerned) but is a little harder to retrieve - only a little. ;-) The triggers can be called either before or after changes.

There's a Redbook call Advanced Database Functions, SG24-4249-02. Chapter 5 is 72 pages on triggers. It's from October 2000 - there's a later one, SG24-4249-03, with a similar title but it does not have the chapter on triggers. If you can't find the first one, let me know offlist and I'll send you a copy attached. It's a little less than 5GB.

HI I have a discrepancy w/ in an inventory item, because someone is able to move it to another season. I would like to put on a watcher to the two files and see when they get changed. Is this done by useing the system auditing, if so, is it a one command thing to do, or more invovled?

Thanks for everything,
Mike
