add a result field breaking the field out. You may have to add two. One
converting the numeric value to a string using DIGITS, Then use the SUBSTR
function. You must select the field to sort/break on it.

ex.

                              Define Result Fields
 Type definitions using field names or constants and operators, press
Enter.
   Operators:  +, -, *, /, SUBSTR, ||, DATE...

HI Can I break on a portion of a field. I want to break the report by
month. The month is part of a yymmdd field. Can this be done in regular
Query/400?
