I didn't forget.  I did use the AFP printer.  And every time the result
was better when using OpenOffice to print to the AFP printer vs. MS
Office.  I don't know why, I just know the results.
 
But don't take my word for it.  Try it out yourself.  OpenOffice is free
and runs on practically every platform.  http://www.openoffice.org
