It's a rule : the SELECT statement uses the WHERE clause to populate a
result table.  You can rename the resulting columns, but you cannot use the
resulting name in the WHERE clause (catch 22 situation) !  However, you can
use it in the ORDER BY clause, as the ORDER BY is applied on the result
table.
