Others may remember better than me, but I think it still does keep an audit
between saves to the same file name.  The issue you might be referring to is
the one that identified the user's PC that last udpated the document.

I have the latest updates on Office, and I still see my docs expanding as I
save multiple times, then they deflate once I do a Save As.
