Been through the Archives and tried anything relevant I could find, but I
still can't get Management Central to work.

If I open OpsNav and click on 'Management Central (AS400NAME)' I get:
'Unable to complete the connection to central system 'AS400NAME'.'

The JOBLOG for QYPSJSVR will have an entry that says:

> Management Central connection failed.
>
> Management Central could not create a connection to MYPC.
> An unsuccessful attempt was made to create a connection to the
> currently configured Management Central server or to a remote host.
>
> See previous messages for additional information. Verify that the target
> system is available and try the request again.

A 'PING MYPC' from the command line completes successfully.
Previous messages in the JOBLOG relate to the job starting.
Some that look interesting are:

> QSYS/CALL PGM(QSYSDIR/QYPSJSVR)
> Cannot retreive value for as-mgtctrlj -(Complete with spelling mistake!)
> Management Central server McServer on port 5544 started.

A google on the second message draws a blank.

The JOBLOG for QYPSSRV only contains items related to the job starting and
none of them look interesting.

Other things I've looked at include:

1) QSYSOPR username and password are valid - I use it every week
2) A 'CWBPING AS400NAME' from 'MYPC' completes successfully.
3) CFGTCP:

Option 10 - Host Table
has entries for the AS400:
192.168.110.36 AS400NAME.DOMAIN.NET
                   AS400NAME
and MYPC:
192.168.110.163 MYPC
                   MYPC.DOMAIN.NET

Option 12 - Domain Information
Host name - 'AS400NAME'
Domain name - 'DOMAIN.NET'
Search Priority - '*LOCAL'
DNS - '192.168.110.10' - which is a server on our LAN doing DHCP and
external DNS Lookups.
The AS400 and MYPC both have static IP Addresses which are correct in the
Host Table options above.

The AS400 is running v5r1. The PC is running WinXP, Client Access v5r1
SI11806 and the Management Central PTF's required for that are either
permanently applied or superseded on the AS400 (SI01375, SI01376, SI01377,
SI01378, SI01838)

I think that's about covered it! Anyone have any other ideas? The 'Cannot
retrieve value...' seems interesting, if only I could find something about
it.

Cheers

Guy
