Any save, be it a save file or tape, may be restored by an OS/400 version
that is equal to or higher than the version on which it was saved. In order
to restore a save done on a higher OS/400 version, though, it must be saved
using TGTRLS(<old version>).  The V5 versions, as I recall, only allow a
value no more than two releases prior to the V5 release. V5R2 therefore,
may only allow a save to V4R5.

Hope that helps.

Are Save Files portable between versions of OS400?
Can a SAVF created by V4R3 be read/restored by V5R2, and vice versa?
